Energy Savings Agreement

Stafford Heating and Air offers annual service agreements. The basic Energy Savings Agreement includes two visits per year, one before cooling season, and one before the heating season. We call each visit a PTU (Precision Tune Up.)

The purpose of a service agreement is there to have a Trained Service Technician check the operation of your heating and cooling system to ensure that it is ready for the season ahead. During PTU each major component and its operation is checked providing the best guaranty that your system will operate correctly for upcoming season. The Technician will also check the indoor and outdoor coils to make sure that they are clean and clean them if necessary. Dirty indoor and outdoor coils can rob your heating and cooling system of its efficiency. We will change your air filters or clean your Trane Clean Effects air cleaner or other air filtration devices that you have.  If you have a humidifier, we will service it and change the water panel in it each year for an additional fee. We try to take the worry out of owning a heating and air conditioning system.

Studies of air conditioners and heat pumps have shown that if the Freon in the system is off by as little as 10%, the operational costs may increase by as much as 25%. That PTU the Trained Service Technician did on your system insures that your system will operate as efficiently as possible. As a personal note, my fifteen (15) year old heat pump was running longer and more often on mild days, I checked the Freon charge and found it low. I adjusted the charge and found that my operating costs for this year are 15% lower than last year. Remember that the cooling or heating cost is only 1/3 to ½ of your total electric bill. For me the actual savings were about $30 per month or close to $360 per year. Energy Savings Agreements can save you more than their yearly cost by reducing your operating costs. Why pay more for your cooling and heating than you need to?
